This weeks ride took us out to Blyton Ice Cream Parlor. Around a dozen riders set out from our usual meeting point, The Palms in cool but bright conditions with very little wind.

The route took us out towards Blyth, Ranskill, Mattersey, Drakeholes, Wiseton, up over Gringley-on-the-Hill, along towards Beckingham, down the side of the Trent and into Gainsborough, from Gainsborough we headed out towards Lea, past Upton, Springthorpe, Pilham and into Blyton for refreshments. Coffee, cake, bacon butties and just about anything else was consumed other than ice-cream!!!

After finishing off our various delights it was time to get back on the bikes for the journey home and thankfully those who'd braved shorts for the first time this year where rewarded with a little bit of warm sunshine. The route home took us back through Warton, back into Gainsborough, along to Saundby, North Wheatley, Clayworth, Drakeholes, Styrrup, Firbeck, Letwell, back through Woodsetts and back home into Worksop. We had five riders complete the whole route with the majority of riders turning home at Blyth due mainly to time constraints.

The ride was around 75 miles with around 2000ft of climbing at an average speed of 16+mph.

A great Sunday ride without any mechanical's, with a great bunch of riders. Hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as I did.
